As a Community Support Volunteer, you will help connect community members with essential services, promote participation, and contribute to the smooth delivery of a community-focused initiative. If you are organized, proactive, and enjoy working directly with people, this assignment will allow you to gain hands-on experience in community engagement, event support, and service delivery while contributing to meaningful development outcomes.
- What you will do in this role
Support community outreach and mobilization activities to raise awareness of the Technical Assistance Centre.
Inform residents about available services, event dates, locations, and participation requirements.
Distribute informational and promotional materials within assigned communities.
Welcome participants and assist with registration, attendance tracking, and event orientation.
Guide participants to the appropriate service providers and support areas.
Assist elderly persons, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and other participants requiring additional support.
Support crowd flow, queue management, and general event operations.
Assist with venue setup, distribution of materials, logistical support, and post-event activities.
Collect participant feedback and support monitoring and evaluation activities.

At least 3 months of relevant experience supporting community events, logistics activities, volunteer initiatives, customer service, or project implementation.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively with community members, government agencies, partner organizations, and UNDP staff.
Basic digital literacy, including the use of smartphones, tablets, or computers for communication and record-keeping.
Ability to perform light physical tasks, including moving and organizing event materials and equipment.
Fluency in English.
- What this experience offers you
This assignment provides practical experience in community outreach, participant engagement, event operations, and service delivery within a UNDP-supported initiative. Volunteers will receive a monthly allowance of
- JMD 52,000
while strengthening their communication, organizational, customer service, and teamwork skills. The experience offers the opportunity to work closely with community members, government agencies, and development partners while contributing to improved access to essential services and stronger community participation.
