Job Description
Job Specification Officers are responsible to their Deputy Director, for providing Board Secretarial and related services to the Board of Directors and ensure effective and efficient management of contract administration, company insurance, legislative drafting and compliance with legal and regulatory legislation including provision of legal advice to members of management. Duties and responsibilities Advising the Authority on all legal matters that may arise in its operations; Drawing and vetting of Contracts, agreements and other legal documents; Developing, implementing and reviewing legal policies and procedures to ensure that they are in accord with the existing legislation; Negotiating for contracts; Undertaking legal research; Monitoring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements; Board Secretariat Duties and Responsibilities Providing secretarial services to the Board and its Committees. Providing of guidance to the Board on their duties and responsibilities and on matters of Governance; Facilitating Annual Board Evaluation; Facilitating Governance Audits; Keeping safe Custody and accounting for of the Corporation’s seal, securities, agreements, Minutes, titles and other legal instruments; and Person Specifications For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: - A minimum of eight (8) years and at least three (3) experience in supervisory role in the Public or Private Sector; Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution; Master’s Degree in any Law or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law; Admitted as an advocate of the High Court Kenya; Hold a valid practicing certificate; Member of the Law Society of Kenya; Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; and Proficiency in computer applications.
