Join Higsera as a Legal Claims Analyst
Higsera is seeking an experienced Legal Claims Analyst to join our growing legal support team. This is a full-time, in-person role based at our Nairobi South office.
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented legal professional with 5+ years of relevant experience in claims review, legal review, investigations, employment matters, or related areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing complex documentation, identifying key legal and factual issues, and ensuring claims are handled accurately and efficiently.
Work Location and Schedule
- Location: Nairobi South Office, Nairobi, Kenya
- Work Arrangement: Fully in-person
- Working Hours: 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM Kenyan time
- Candidates must be available and willing to work the full scheduled shift from the Nairobi South office.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable policies, contracts, and legal standards.
- Analyze complex and legacy claims, including historical files that may be incomplete, technical, or difficult to interpret.
- Conduct detailed document reviews and ensure consistency and accuracy across all relevant materials.
- Perform discovery-related tasks, including document review, issue spotting, and organization of materials for legal proceedings.
- Execute privilege and confidentiality reviews to identify and appropriately categorize protected or sensitive documents.
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, risks, and key issues within claims and supporting documentation.
- Prepare clear notes, summaries, and findings to support internal teams and clients.
- Collaborate effectively with legal professionals and other relevant departments.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in claims review, legal review, investigations, employment matters, claims processing, paralegal work, or a related field.
- Strong experience reviewing complex, detailed, and document-heavy files.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to identify key issues and manage sensitive subject matters professionally.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider team.
- Legal review, claims processing, investigations, or paralegal experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to work in person at Higsera's Nairobi South office during the required 4:00 PM–2:00 AM shift.
Compensation
The compensation structure for this role is:
- KES 60,000 per month for the first three months.
- KES 80,000 per month from the fourth month onward, subject to continued employment and satisfactory performance.
Compensation and employment terms may be reviewed based on performance, responsibilities, and business needs.
Interview Process
Our recruitment process consists of three stages:
Stage 1: Initial Screening Interview
A member of the Higsera team will conduct an initial interview to discuss your professional background, relevant experience, communication skills, and suitability for the Legal Claims Analyst role.
Stage 2: Technical and Experience Assessment
Shortlisted candidates will participate in a more detailed interview or practical assessment focused on claims review, document analysis, issue spotting, attention to detail, and relevant legal or investigative experience.
Stage 3: Final Interview
Final candidates will meet with the hiring team for a comprehensive interview to discuss their experience, approach to the role, availability, ability to work the required 4:00 PM–2:00 AM schedule, and commitment to working in person from the Nairobi South office.
