Job Description

- Prepare and distribute student bills and fee invoices accurately ahead of each school term.
- Track tuition payments, verify bank tellers/transfers, and issue official receipts.
- Manage debtor aging reports and enforce the school's fee collection policy.
- Reconcile student accounts and resolve parental queries regarding billing and balances.
Budgeting & Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including cash flow statements.
- Support administrative management with budget planning, forecasting, and departmental cost control.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and monitor petty cash disbursements.
- Audit and verify all internal expense claims before processing payments.
Payroll & Statutory Compliance:
- Process monthly staff payroll, ensuring accurate deductions for absences or advances.
- Manage and remit statutory deductions, including Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) tax and pensions.
- Ensure strict compliance with Lagos State internal revenue laws and educational financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual financial audits.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an HND in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification (ICAN or ACCA) is a major advantage.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, with specific experience in a school environment highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and specialised accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or school management ERP software).
- Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws, PAYE administration, and statutory filing procedures.
