We help business owners get payroll right - compliant, accurate and on time, every time
Your role
You'll manage payroll for a portfolio of Australian clients - processing pay runs accurately, keeping on top of compliance obligations like STP and super, and building the kind of relationship where clients trust you've got it handled This isn't a "run it and forget it" role.
You'll be across the detail, spot issues before they land on someone's payslip, and look for ways to make each pay run smoother than the last
Day to day, you'll:
Process end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of AU clients (weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles)
Set up new employees, manage terminations, and keep employee records accurate
Submit Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting to the ATO
Calculate and process superannuation, including the move to Payday Super
Manage leave balances, accruals and entitlements
Apply Modern Award and agreement conditions to pay rates and entitlements
Reconcile payroll accounts in Xero, including wages payable, super and PAYG withholding
Respond to employee and client payroll queries
Work with connected apps like Xero Payroll, Deputy and Employment Hero
Stay current on Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
What we're looking for
You don't wait to be told what needs doing.
You manage your own workload, hit deadlines ahead of schedule (not on the last day), and you're already thinking about what the next pay run needs before it's due You're also someone who:
Communicates clearly and confidently with Australians - in writing and over the phone
Double checks your own work and asks good questions before running payroll, not after
Manages your time well and follows through on what you say you'll do
Actively looks for ways to improve how a pay cycle runs, not just ways to get through it
Helps teammates without being asked, and enjoys being part of a team that wins together
Is genuinely curious about payroll - not just running the numbers, but understanding what they mean for employees and the business
Keeps good timesheet records, communicates openly, and talks about mistakes so others don't make them too
What experience are we looking for?
4+ years experience as a payroll officer, ideally in a BPO environment
Experience with payroll for Australian businesses
Working knowledge of payroll tax, PAYG, income statement, casual leave loading, and other Australian payroll compliance topics (you will be tested)
Experience with Xero, Employment Hero, Deputy, Difinitiv or similar
