• Shipping and Logistics Manager
• Location: Bissau, Guinea-Bissau

Lead the day-to-day performance and development of a country operation for a leading international shipping and logistics company.

We are seeking an Agency Manager to oversee commercial, operational, financial, and people performance in Guinea-Bissau. Based in Bissau, you will help deliver sustainable growth, maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships, and ensure the business operates efficiently, safely, and in line with local regulations and group standards.

This is an expatriate opportunity for a hands-on manager who can work across functions, make sound commercial decisions, and lead effectively in a fast-paced African market.

• What You'll Be Doing
• Manage country performance across revenue, profitability, cash flow, pricing, margins, costs, and working capital.
• Support the development and delivery of country budgets, business plans, and commercial priorities in line with group objectives.
• Oversee operational performance across shipping and logistics, maintaining service quality, efficiency, compliance, and effective risk management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, business partners, authorities, and regulators, acting as an escalation point for important operational or commercial issues.
• Identify market opportunities, support business development activity, and help strengthen the company's competitive position.
• Ensure effective use of group systems, reporting tools, and operational processes across the country organisation.
• Lead and develop the local management team, establishing clear objectives, performance measures, and accountability.
• Maintain compliance with local regulations, group governance requirements, and health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• About You
• You have management experience within shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or a related service industry.
• You understand commercial, financial, and operational management, including budgets, margins, customer performance, and service delivery.
• You have experience leading teams and coordinating across operational, commercial, finance, and support functions.
• You are commercially aware, organised, and able to translate business priorities into practical action.
• You are comfortable working in a multicultural, fast-paced, and complex operating environment.
• You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in business, economics, logistics, or a related subject.
• You are fluent in both Portuguese and English, with the ability to communicate professionally in both languages.
• Previous expatriate experience in Africa or another emerging market would be an advantage.
