The Workers' Rights Act sets out leave entitlements and the end of year bonus, and some of these apply regardless of salary level.
The end of year bonus
This is one of the provisions that extends to employees earning above the MUR 50,000 threshold.
It is a statutory entitlement, not a discretionary payment, and it applies broadly across the workforce.
Maternity and paternity leave
Also among the provisions applying regardless of salary. The Act provides for both, with protections around the employment relationship during those periods.
Juror's leave
Another entitlement that applies above the threshold — leave to serve as a juror.
Leave for international events
The Act provides for leave to participate in international events, again regardless of salary level.
Annual and sick leave
Provided under the Act for covered workers, with entitlements that may be improved by contract or collective agreement.
