We are building modern, technology-enabled businesses serving customers locally and internationally. As we scale our digital presence, we are investing in our first dedicated in-house development role to drive technical excellence across our platforms.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Web Developer to join our team, supporting the design, development, and maintenance of our ecommerce platforms, internal tools, and AI-powered digital workflows. In this role, you will combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and hands-on execution to deliver scalable ecommerce and catalog solutions that create measurable business value.
Compensation
GHS 2,500 – 3,500 per month, commensurate with experience, with periodic structured salary reviews.
What You'll Do
- Ecommerce Development & Customization: Design, develop, and maintain Shopify ecommerce stores, including custom theme development using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Integrate third-party apps, plugins, and services to enhance store functionality. Optimize site performance, ensure responsive design, and implement on-page SEO best practices.
- Product Catalog & Data Operations: Lead the technical buildout of our product catalogs — structuring product data, building automation scripts for batch processing and bulk uploads, and generating AI-powered product imagery and copy at scale. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and adherence to taxonomy and naming standards across all storefronts.
- AI & Content Automation: Set up and operate AI-powered workflows using text models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) for product copy generation and image generation models (Gemini, Imagen) for product photography. Evaluate, refine, and quality-check AI outputs before publishing.
- Internal Tools & Systems Integration: Build internal web tools and dashboards to support business operations. Integrate SaaS platforms (Shopify, Asana, Google Workspace, and others) via RESTful APIs. Automate repetitive workflows using scripting or integration tools.
- Code Quality & Collaboration: Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code. Participate in code reviews and version control workflows using Git. Collaborate with operations, marketing, and management to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
What You Bring
- Relevant certification in web development, software engineering, or a related technical field (bootcamp completion, professional certification, HND, or degree). Strong portfolio without formal certification also considered
- Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with at least one modern framework (React, Vue, Svelte, or similar)
- At least one project you have built and can demo (deployed preferred)
- Good written and spoken English
- A fast, self-directed learner who picks up new tools quickly
What Strengthens Your Application
- Experience consuming REST APIs
- Exposure to a server-side language (Node.js, Python, PHP)
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL
- Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel
- Responsive design and cross-browser testing experience
- Experience with Git branching and collaborative workflows
Tools You'll Use
You'll work with a modern stack supporting ecommerce, AI content production, and business operations. Key technologies include:
- Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Vue/Svelte, Liquid (Shopify)
- Backend & APIs: Node.js or Python, REST APIs, third-party integrations
- Ecommerce: Shopify, Shopify Admin, Odoo
- AI & Content: Claude, GPT, Google Gemini/Imagen, Midjourney
- Data & Automation: Google Sheets/Excel, CSV processing, Zapier/Make/n8n
- Design & Media: Figma, Canva, Photoshop/GIMP
- Collaboration & Delivery: Git/GitHub, Asana, Google Workspace
Experience with these technologies is preferred but not mandatory — we value developers who are curious, adaptable, and eager to learn.
