Human Positive Behaviour Support is growing, and we are seeking two experienced Senior Behaviour Support Practitioners to join our first clinical team.

These are full-time, home-based and community-based roles supporting NDIS participants across Sunbury, Macedon Ranges, Melton and surrounding suburbs. Caseload allocation will generally focus on a reasonable travel radius from each practitioner’s home, with regular travel to participant homes, schools, supported accommodation and community settings.

About the role

As a Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will manage an allocated caseload and deliver high-quality Specialist Behaviour Support services across home, school, community, telehealth and supported accommodation settings.

Your work will include:

• conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments using observation, interviews, file review, data analysis, environmental assessment and stakeholder consultation
• developing Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans that are practical, ethical, strengths-based and rights-based, with an emphasis on reducing restrictive practices and improving quality of life
• providing implementation support, coaching and training to participants, families, carers, support workers, schools and providers
• reviewing behavioural data, incident information and stakeholder feedback to assess outcomes and update supports
• identifying and responding to clinical risk, safeguarding concerns and regulated or unauthorised restrictive practices
• maintaining timely clinical records, case notes and billing entries in Splose
• participating in supervision, reflective practice, case review and quality activities

All clinical reports and recommendation letters receive Director review before release, supporting consistent quality assurance and giving practitioners access to experienced clinical oversight.

As one of the first two Senior Practitioners, you will also help establish a thoughtful, ethical and supportive clinical culture. As Human PBS grows, the position will include clinical supervision, mentoring and practice support for newer practitioners.

Workload and flexibility

The full-time billable target is 23 hours per week. Senior practitioners are expected to reach the full target within approximately four to six weeks, subject to caseload availability and onboarding.

Billable work may include direct participant contact, report writing, plan development, stakeholder consultation, implementation support, training, case-related communication and allowable travel.

The role is based from home, with reasonable flexibility around working hours. Work must still occur at times that are suitable for participants, families and stakeholders, and practitioners will participate in team hub day as required.

A laptop and mobile phone will be provided.

Salary

$110,000–$130,000 per annum plus statutory superannuation, depending on skills and experience.

Work-related kilometres and approved parking expenses will be reimbursed in line with applicable requirements and Human PBS procedures.

About you

You will be an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner who brings sound clinical judgement, ethical practice, clear communication and genuine respect for participants and their support networks. You will care deeply about the work, celebrate progress in all its forms, remain steady through complex challenges and measure success by the growth, confidence and wellbeing of the people around you.

You will need:

• current NDIS behaviour support practitioner suitability at Proficient level or higher
• at least four years of experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support to NDIS participants
• a relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, speech pathology, education, disability, behaviour analysis or a related discipline, with current registration, membership or accreditation with the relevant professional body, where applicable, such as AHPRA, AASW or PACFA
• demonstrated experience conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments
• demonstrated experience developing Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
• strong knowledge of restrictive practice, safeguarding and NDIS behaviour support requirements
• high-level report writing and clinical reasoning skills
• experience working with families, schools, support providers, allied health professionals and support coordinators
• experience providing supervision, mentoring or practice support
• the ability to work independently and manage a community-based caseload
• a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
• a current driver licence and access to a reliable, registered and insured vehicle
• Australian working rights

Applicants with Advanced or Specialist practitioner suitability, experience with complex support needs, children and young people, supported independent living, schools, clinical governance or Splose will be viewed favourably.
