Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the existing KonectX codebase: a React (Vite) frontend, a Node.js/Express API, and MongoDB, and bring it to a completed, documented, tested state
  • Build and complete the operator dashboard: hotspot management, voucher issuance, session monitoring, and earnings visibility
  • Implement and maintain the revenue settlement engine: multi-party splits, credit maturation windows, payout requests, and an auditable ledger
  • Integrate payment rails for Nigeria and for Francophone markets, including card, bank transfer, and mobile money
  • Work on captive portal and router-side integration so that sessions are recorded reliably even on unstable links
  • Maintain and improve our Web3 layer: $KXT balance accrual, distribution jobs, and wallet-facing views on Celo
  • Own deployment and uptime on our VPS estate: nginx, PM2, Cloudflare, environment and secret hygiene, backups, monitoring, and incident response
  • Deliver every user-facing surface
  • Write documentation as you go: our engineering knowledge lives in Confluence, and undocumented work is treated as unfinished work
  • Work with our CISO to close outstanding security items and keep the platform compliant with the NDPA 2023

Requirements:

  • 5+ years building and shipping production web applications, with at least 2 years of genuine full-stack ownership
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript. Deep, practical Node.js and Express experience
  • Strong React, including hooks, state management, and modern build tooling such as Vite
  • Real MongoDB experience: schema design, indexing, aggregation, and knowing when a document database is the wrong choice
  • You have deployed and operated your own servers. Linux, nginx, process managers, TLS, DNS, and reverse proxies are not mysteries to you
  • You have written code that handles money, and you understand why that code is different from other code
  • Git discipline, code review habits, and the ability to write tests that catch real regressions
  • You can pick up an unfamiliar codebase, understand it, and improve it without breaking it
  • Clear written English

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Web3: ERC-20 tokens, EVM chains, ethers.js or viem, wallet integration. Celo specifically is a bonus
  • Experience with payment integrations in Africa: Paystack, Flutterwave, mobile money aggregators
  • Networking exposure: captive portals, RADIUS, MikroTik or OpenWRT, hotspot management
  • Experience as the most senior engineer on a product, or first engineering hire

Who this role is not for:

  • Engineers who have only worked inside a large team on a narrow slice of a system
  • Anyone who needs a fully specified ticket before they can start
  • Anyone uncomfortable being accountable for production uptime

Remuneration: NGN 400,000 – 600,000,(Gross) reviewed at confirmation and annually

Benefits:

  • Full technical ownership of a live product with paying users and a real expansion roadmap
  • Direct access to founders; no layers between you and the decisions
  • Hybrid working: three days onsite at our Lekki office, two days remote
  • Paid annual leave, statutory pension and PAYE handled, and a formal employment contract
  • Hardware and tooling provided
  • Exposure to DePIN, Web3, and cross-border African infrastructure — a rare combination on a Nigerian CV
  • A three-month probation period with clear, written success criteria agreed in week one
