Job Description

Responsibilities:

Executive Advisory & Decision Support:

  • Provide strategic and analytical support to the MD/CEO on key business, commercial, and operational matters
  • Prepare briefing notes, decision-support papers, and executive recommendations
  • Evaluate emerging business opportunities and risks requiring executive attention


Strategy Execution & Performance Management:

  • Drive implementation of corporate strategy and the annual business plan across business units
  • Monitor performance against approved budgets, KPIs, and strategic


Business Intelligence & Corporate Planning:

  • Conduct market, competitor, and macroeconomic analysis to inform executive decisions
  • Develop business cases for investments, partnerships, and new opportunities
  • Support annual budgeting, portfolio reviews, and M&A/investment screening


Board & Executive Management Support:

  • Coordinate preparation and quality review of Board and Committee papers
  • Prepare CEO reports and presentations for Board, investor, and stakeholder engagements


Stakeholder Engagement & Special Projects:

  • Support MD/CEO engagements with regulators, investors, JV partners, and government agencies
  • Lead strategic and confidential projects, including due diligence and corporate restructuring


Requirements:

Educations and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (minimum Second Class Upper) in Engineering, Geosciences, Economics, Finance, Business, Law or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Master's degree (MBA, MSc, or equivalent) from a reputable institution is strongly preferred.
  • Programme/Project management certification or strategy/consulting credentials are an advantage.
  • 15-20 years of progressive post-NYSC experience, with at least 8 years at senior exec, head-of-function, or strategy level.
  • Experience supporting C-suite executives or boards.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy, corporate planning, business development, commercial management, or transformation.
  • Strong understanding of Nigeria’s petroleum industry, regulatory framework, fiscal regime, and commercial environment.
  • Experience with acquisitions, project development, or integrated energy businesses is highly desirable.
