Duties and Responsibilities Assessing gum health by measuring periodontal pocket depths, evaluating bone loss through X-rays and assessing tooth mobility. Creating customized treatment plans for gingivitis and advanced periodontitis. Performing deep scaling and root planning to remove plaque and tartar below the gum line. Performing pocket reduction surgery, gum grafts to cover exposed roots, frenectomies and regeneration procedures for bone/tissue. Specialized, precise placement of dental implants to replace missing teeth and treating peri-implantitis. Instructing patients on proper oral hygiene techniques (flossing and brushing) and personalized care to maintain gum health. Evaluating systemic health conditions (e.g., diabetes and heart disease) that affect periodontal health. Requirements for Appointment Bachelor of Dental Surgery (DS) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board. Master’s degree of Dental Surgery in Periodontology. Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board. Valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board. Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution. Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution. Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
