Role Description The School Librarian is a full-time, on-site role based at Glorious Child School Limited in Pokuase. The role involves managing the school library’s daily operations, including cataloging, organizing, and maintaining library resources in both print and digital formats. The School Librarian will support learners and staff by providing guidance on information retrieval, promoting reading and research skills, and delivering library instruction sessions. Responsibilities include developing age-appropriate library programs, enforcing library policies, collaborating with teachers to integrate resources into the curriculum, and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive, and orderly library environment. The School Librarian will also track library usage, manage inventory, and contribute to school initiatives that foster a culture of reading and lifelong learning.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Library Science and Library Management, with the ability to organize, catalog, and maintain diverse collections.
• Experience in Library Services and Library Instruction, including supporting learners and educators in accessing and using information resources.
• Knowledge of Metadata and basic cataloging standards to ensure accurate classification and easy retrieval of materials.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Library Science, Information Studies, Education, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a school or academic library setting is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with learners, staff, and families.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with library software and basic computer applications.
• Commitment to child safeguarding, inclusivity, and supporting diverse learning needs.
