Job Description
Our client (Pharmaceutical start-up) is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to support our sourcing, procurement, distribution, and inventory operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying reliable pharmaceutical wholesalers and suppliers, sourcing products at competitive prices, coordinating distribution, and ensuring proper management of stock and store operations.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and source pharmaceutical products from reputable and licensed wholesalers and suppliers.
Research suppliers, compare prices, negotiate favorable terms, and maintain good supplier relationships.
Obtain quotations and ensure products are sourced within approved budgets.
Verify product availability, quality, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate orders, deliveries, and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
Monitor purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of stock.
Work closely with suppliers, distributors, and internal teams to resolve supply issues.
Monitor stock movement and identify products requiring replenishment.
Receive, inspect, record, and properly store pharmaceutical products.
Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock counts.
Monitor stock levels and prepare replenishment requests.
Ensure proper arrangement, cleanliness, security, and organization of the store.
Monitor batch numbers, expiry dates, and product movement using appropriate stock rotation practices.
Maintain proper documentation for stock received, issued, transferred, and returned.
Report discrepancies, damaged products, expired/near-expiry products, and stock variances promptly.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or bachelors degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
1-2 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical procurement, inventory, or store management.
Experience working with pharmaceutical products & licensed suppliers/wholesalers will be an added advantage.
Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Good knowledge of pharmaceutical storage, stock rotation, batch and expiry-date monitoring.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a start-up environment.
High level of integrity, accountability, and organizational skills.
