About The Family Systems Hub
Strengthening connection within families so children can live their lives more fully.
The Family Systems Hub is a leading systemic child, adult and family therapy practice dedicated to strengthening relationships within families for greater harmony, resilience and wellbeing.
Formerly known as Play Therapy Hub, our practice has grown beyond supporting children alone. While play therapy remains at the heart of what we do for children, we recognise that lasting change happens when we understand each person within the context of their relationships, family system and life experiences.
We believe children are not separate from the systems they belong to. When parents, caregivers and families become more connected, emotionally aware and supported, children are freer to thrive, develop with confidence and live their lives more fully.
Our Mission
To strengthen connection within families for greater harmony, resilience and wellbeing.
Our Vision
We envision families who are more connected, emotionally aware and resilient, where children are free to live their lives more fully and each generation is less burdened by the unresolved patterns of the past.
Our Approach
Our work is grounded in a systemic, relational and somatic framework that integrates developmental science, attachment theory, play therapy based approaches, psychotherapy and trauma informed practice.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or behaviours, we to understand the relational patterns, developmental experiences and broader family dynamics that shape each person's experience.
Across every service we provide, we work alongside children, adolescents, adults and parents to:
- Strengthen relationships and deepen connection within families.
- Support emotional awareness, nervous system regulation and healthy development.
- Empower parents as active participants in their family's growth.
- Interrupt intergenerational patterns so future generations are not carrying unresolved burdens from the past.
- Foster greater resilience, belonging and authentic relationships across the lifespan.
Our work extends across child and family play therapy, parent focused support therapy, filial family therapy, family therapy, family constellations and systemic & somatic psychotherapy, united by one philosophy: supporting healthier relationships through a whole family lens.
About the Role
The Family Systems Hub is seeking an experienced and passionate Play Therapist who shares our belief that children are best understood within the context of their relationships.
This role extends beyond individual child therapy. We are looking for a clinician who enjoys working collaboratively and therapeutically with parents, values family relationships as central to therapeutic change and is curious about the wider systems influencing a child's wellbeing.
You are equally comfortable supporting young children through non directive play therapy, engaging adolescents in developmentally appropriate ways and guiding parents to strengthen connection, confidence and emotional leadership within their family.
You recognise that behaviours often communicate something deeper and are interested in understanding the relational, developmental and systemic influences that sit beneath presenting concerns.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver child centred, attachment informed play therapy within a systemic and relational framework.
- Provide therapeutic support for adolescents and their families.
- Partner with parents through coaching, psychoeducation and therapeutic interventions.
- Facilitate parent child and family sessions where clinically appropriate.
- Develop holistic treatment plans that consider the individual within the broader family system.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team committed to reflective practice, professional growth and clinical excellence.
About You
We welcome applications from fully registered or associate practitioners with at least two years of clinical play therapy experience working with children, adolescents and families.
Alongside your clinical skills, you value curiosity, authenticity and lifelong learning. You believe parents are an essential part of the therapeutic process and are committed to working collaboratively to strengthen relationships, rather than simply reduce symptoms.
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualifications in counselling, psychotherapy, systemic family constellations, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, family therapy or a related discipline are highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience or a genuine passion for systemic, relational and attachment informed practice.
- Eligibility to provide private health or Medicare rebates is highly desirable.
Play Therapy Qualifications
Applicants must hold certifications in one or more of the following:
- Child Centred Play Therapy
- Synergetic Play Therapy
- Humanistic Play Therapy and Interplay
- EMDR and Sandtray Play Therapy
Why Join The Family Systems Hub?

This is an opportunity to contribute to an innovative practice at the forefront of systemic, relational and family centred therapy, while continuing to grow both professionally and personally.
