Qualifications Diploma/ Degree in Telecommunication, Fiber optics or related field. 2+ years of experience in a similar role. Strong understanding of fiber network concepts. Proficiency in fiber handling & maintenance. Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise. Key Responsibilities: Lead field teams in fibre installation, maintenance and fault restoration Installing and terminating fiber optic cables and other network equipment. Diagnose and resolve fibre network faults within agreed SLA. Ensure work is completed according to set technical and safety standards Observing Health & Safety guidelines and ensuring quality assurance throughout the implementation and maintenance period. Work with Assistant technicians and submit job completion reports. Educating clients on basic troubleshooting processes and answering fiber optic related questions from customers. Individuals will work as a team with other technicians and NOC personnel and report to field supervisors. Fiber link faulting and faults resolutions within the Service Level Agreement (SLA). Splicing fiber optics at various fiber distribution hubs, troubleshooting and testing fiber links with a light source, optical power meters and an OTDR. Providing timely updates on fiber faults to the NOC personnel and ensuring excellent customer service to the client. Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
