Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, and highly motivated individuals to fill the position of IT Support Technician.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to staff and students on computer hardware, software, and ICT-related issues.• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.• Diagnose and repair hardware faults and replace defective components where necessary.• Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems and application software.• Maintain and support computer laboratories, ensuring all equipment is functional and ready for teaching and learning.• Install, configure, maintain, and repair printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.• Provide support for audiovisual equipment used in classrooms, meetings, and conferences.• Assist in user account creation, password resets, and access management.• Perform preventive maintenance on ICT equipment.• Maintain an inventory of ICT assets and update maintenance records.• Assist in the deployment of new ICT systems and technologies.• Support basic network connectivity troubleshooting, including wired and wireless networks.• Escalate complex technical issues to senior ICT personnel where necessary.• Ensure compliance with University ICT policies, cybersecurity standards, and data protection requirements.• Provide user orientation and basic ICT training where required.• Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of ICT.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.• At least one (1) year of relevant experience in ICT support. Recent graduates with strong practical skills are encouraged to apply.• Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, HP, or equivalent will be an added advantage.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:• Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems.• Experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.• Experience in printer installation, maintenance, and repair.• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.• Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, LAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity.• Knowledge of antivirus and endpoint security solutions.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Excellent customer service and communication skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
