Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding where necessary.
  • Measure and record patients' vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, and blood glucose (where trained).
  • Assist nurses and doctors during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
  • Prepare patients for consultations, investigations, and medical procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of patient care areas and medical equipment.
  • Ensure proper infection prevention and control practices are followed.
  • Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and transportation within the facility.
  • Observe patients' conditions and promptly report any changes to the supervising healthcare professional.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Support health education and wellness promotion activities.
  • Manage medical supplies and report stock shortages.
  • Provide compassionate care while maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervising nurse or healthcare manager.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Diploma or Certificate in Healthcare Assistance, Community Health, Nursing Assistant, or a related healthcare field.
  • Relevant certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare facility is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of patient care and infection prevention practices.
  • Ability to use basic medical equipment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical fitness to assist with patient care activities.
