Do you have 5 years of relevant experience in gender justice programming, feminist programme design, women’s rights, and partner-led implementation.?

Oxfam is looking for Gender Justice Technical & Partnerships Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Support to Gender Justice Programming (25%)The role provides high-level technical leadership to partners and programme teams, ensuring that gender-transformative and feminist approaches are effectively designed, integrated, and delivered.

Provide technical support across gender justice, women’s rights, feminist leadership, gender-based inequality, social norms transformation, and rights-based programmingStrengthen application of feminist and rights-based methodologies across programme implementation.Provide guidance on gender analysis, intersectionality, and structural inequality.Ensure gender justice is effectively integrated across broader thematic areas including climate and economic justice, humanitarian action, and governancePartner Engagement, Relationship Management & Localisation (20%)The role serves as the primary operational and technical interface with partners on gender justice.

Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations, women-led movements, and civil society actors.Support partners in programme implementation, technical design, problem-solving, learning, and strategic adaptationFacilitate communication and alignment between partners and Oxfam systems.Strengthen partner capacity in feminist programming, safeguarding, accountability, and compliance.

Programme Delivery, Restricted Project Support & Technical Coordination (15%)The role contributes directly to effective programme implementation and project management.

Support implementation of restricted projects and thematic portfolios.Ensure gender justice components are technically strong and strategically delivered.Track programme progress, deliverables, and implementation quality.Ensure project delivery aligns with donor commitments, technical standards, feminist principles, and organisational prioritiesEvidence Generation, Feminist Analysis, Learning & Knowledge Development (15%)The role strengthens the integration of feminist analysis and evidence into programme and influencing systems.

Contribute to research. learning agendas, outcome documentation, gender analysis, and feminist evidence generationSupport robust feminist analytical frameworks that inform programming and policy.Ensure programme evidence is systematically captured and applied.Strengthen learning loops between implementation, influencing, and strategic planning.

Donor Reporting, Compliance & Accountability Support (10%)The role strengthens donor confidence and programme integrity.

Support preparation of donor reports, updates, and technical documentation.Ensure gender-related outcomes, evidence, and strategic insights are clearly reflected.Support compliance with donor requirements, Oxfam standards, Safeguarding frameworksStrengthen quality of technical reporting across restricted portfoilos

Integration Across Thematic Areas, Influencing & Strategic Positioning (10%)The role ensures gender justice is fully integrated across Oxfam’s broader programme and influencing architecture.

Work closely with thematic teams to strengthen gender integration across all programming.Promote cross-thematic collaboration and coherence.Ensure feminist analysis informs Climate justice, Economic justice, Humanitarian action, and GovernanceSupport translation of programme insights into advocacy priorities, policy recommendations, and strategic positioningStrengthen Oxfam’s broader regional gender justice influence.

Internal Coordination, Knowledge Sharing & Cross-Cluster Learning (5%)The role strengthens organisational coherence and technical consistency.

Share knowledge, technical learning, and innovation across countries and teams.Support internal coordination on gender justice priorities.Strengthen methodological consistency and programme coherence.Support wider organisational capacity strengthening.

Qualifications and Experience

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

Essential

Master’sdegree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences or related discipline.5 years of relevant experience in gender justice programming, feminist programme design, women’s rights, and partner-led implementation. Strong technical expertise and ability to integrate programme design with influencing and policy work.Proven experience in multi-country or regional systems, partner coordination, technical advisory roles, and programme integration.Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.Ability to build strong, credible relationships with internal and external individuals and organisationsA high level of self-awareness, personal energy, stamina and flexibility.Proven experience as a team worker and demonstrably cooperative with members of other teamsCommitment to Oxfam’s safeguarding policies to ensure all people who come into contact with Oxfam are as safe as possible.

Portuguese language capabilitySouthern Africa regional experienceExperience with restricted donor programmingKnowledge of policy influencing systemsCommitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and policies and experience of promoting gender equity and diversity and the interests of marginalized people in all aspects of Oxfam’s workAbility and willingness to travel regularly, at times at short notice, locally and regionally.
