Job Description

Department : Fleet / Operations

Reports To : Fleet Manager

Job Purpose

To lead the Fleet Monitoring Team in ensuring effective real-time monitoring of company vehicles, promoting driver compliance, enhancing fleet safety, minimizing operational risks, and ensuring efficient utilization of fleet resources.

Key Responsibilities

● Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Fleet Monitoring Officers.

● Ensure 24/7 monitoring of all company vehicles through the GPS and telematics system.

● Review and investigate fleet alerts, including speeding, unauthorized vehicle use, geofence breaches, harsh driving, excessive idling, and route deviations.

● Ensure prompt escalation of critical fleet incidents to management.

● Monitor fuel consumption trends and investigate suspected fuel misuse or theft.

● Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fleet performance reports.

● Analyze fleet data and recommend improvements in vehicle utilization, safety, and operational efficiency.

● Ensure vehicle tracking devices and telematics systems are fully functional and coordinate repairs where necessary.

● Coordinate with Operations, HSE, Security, and Maintenance departments on fleet-related matters.

● Support investigations into accidents, incidents, and disciplinary cases by providing GPS and telematics reports.

● Ensure compliance with company fleet policies, customer requirements, and road traffic regulations.

● Coach, mentor, and evaluate the performance of Fleet Monitoring Officers.

● Develop work schedules and ensure adequate shift coverage.

● Identify operational risks and recommend preventive measures.

● Maintain accurate fleet monitoring records and documentation.

Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Transport Management, Logistics, Fleet Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

● At least 3years' experience in fleet operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.

● Experience using GPS tracking and fleet management systems.

● Skills and Competencies

● Sound knowledge of GPS, telematics, and fleet management systems.

● Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● High level of integrity and attention to detail.

● Ability to work under pressure and manage shift operations.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
