Carers Victoria is the state’s peak for-purpose organisation dedicated to ensuring that the 1 million unpaid carers across Victoria are understood, recognised, and supported. We provide free advice, deliver events and education, connect carers to vital respite activities, and analyse data to influence systemic change. Our mission is to ensure that all unpaid carers are recognised, valued, and supported. We’re focused on change for purpose and continue to evolve so we can better meet the needs of carers. We’re looking for an Event Operations Officer role to lead and coordinate the operational delivery and logistics of Carers Victoria events throughout Metro Melbourne and Regional Victoria.
The opportunity
Carers Victoria is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person to join our Regional Carer Engagement Team to team as our Events Operations Officer. This full-time role will suit someone who has experience in coordinating the operational delivery of events.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinate the delivery of events and activities, ensuring smooth operations and logistics.
- Support event planning, scheduling, resourcing, and delivery and the documentation of these in detailed process documents.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, stakeholders, suppliers, and venues.
- Prepare event communications and promotional materials to drive engagement.
- Monitor event activity and workloads to support effective service delivery.
- Maintain accurate event data and reporting through CRM systems.
- Provide responsive customer service and support for event enquiries.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, quality standards, and best practice in event delivery.
About you
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering events.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and demonstrate accountability through effective planning, reporting, and follow-through.
- Experience using CRM systems and event management platforms (e.g. Eventbrite and Dynamics 365 or similar).
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in events management, marketing, business administration or similar field, or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for travel
- Current first aid certificate or willingness to undertake first aid training
- Willingness to provide a current Working with Children Check and undertake a police check prior to commencement

- Hybrid working arrangement, with a mix of working from home and attending our Melbourne CBD office for a weekly anchor day and team collaboration days. The role may also require occasional travel across regional Victoria, including overnight stays.
