Job Description
This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Management and Budget. The incumbent serves as an Program Examiner and as such, provides work in support of the mission of OMB. Promotion to the next highest grade level is neither guaranteed nor implied. As a Engineer (Program Examiner) - Interdisciplinary, GS-11/12/13/14/15, your typical work assignments may include the following: Conducts research, analysis, and evaluation of complex scientific, technical, and programmatic data in relevant fields, applying advanced knowledge of scientific and engineering principles, theories, and methodologies to an array of quantitative and qualitative information. Prepares reports and presentations summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences. Conducts cost estimation, cost-benefit, return on investment analyses, and other programmatic evaluations for science and technology-based initiatives and develop recommendations related to the use of budgetary resources. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to facilitate the exchange of scientific, engineering, and budgetary information. Translates scientific and engineering data and analysis into budgetary and public policy development, budgetary oversight, program and project evaluation, regulatory and legislative assessments, and budgetary decision making.
