Indonesia's labour system places a strong emphasis on evidence. Accurate and consistent recordkeeping is what demonstrates fair process and compliance.
What that means for you
The same standard that lets an employer defend a termination lets you challenge one. Records created during employment carry more weight than reconstructions afterwards.
What to keep
- Your contract, and whether it is PKWT or PKWTT
- Every renewal, if PKWT — Compensation Pay is due at each
- Payslips, showing the salary components
- Evidence of your start date
- BPJS statements for all four programmes
- Any correspondence about performance or conduct
- The termination letter, if it comes
- Records of any negotiation attempts
Why the salary components matter
PP 35/2021 defines the salary components used for severance and BPJS calculations. Your payslips are the evidence of what those were.
A package weighted toward allowances outside that definition produces smaller entitlements — so knowing the split matters before you need it.
