This position is located in the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Visa Services Directorate, Information Management and Liaison Staff (CA/VO/I). The mission of VO/I includes: Visa Systems Development, working with the office of Consular Systems and Technology (CA/CST) to design and deploy new releases of all visa-related applications. Serves as a policy and foreign affairs advisor to the Bureau of Consular Affairs on issues relating to the use of biometrics in the border security process, exit-entry processing, border management, travel documentation and travel facilitation Coordinates and takes the lead in developing intra- and interagency positions and deliverable written products for policy fora and international conferences and working groups. Analyze foreign affairs, technology and domestic issues and recommend policy positions to be adopted by the Assistant Secretary and other US Government principals on issues relating to the use of biometrics in the border security process. Represents policy positions in interagency and international meetings, and is responsible for advocating Consular Affairs policies.
