About the Position: This position is located in southwest Germany in the Rhineland-Pfalz Palatinate. Sembach is about a 90-minute drive from the French border and about a 90-minute drive from Frankfurt International Airport. Rhineland-Pfalz is home to a large concentration of US DoW service-members, DoW civilians and their family members in what is called the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) consisting of several US military bases (kasernes). You will serve as the Brigade strategic mobility and exercise planner working for the Deputy S3 for operations. You will be responsible for coordinating and preparing contingency plans for strategic deployment, Reception, Staging and Onward movement (RSO) of US Forces throughout their AOR. You will coordinate directly with joint and theater service staffs on initiating, developing and maintaining mobilization, emergency and contingency plans in their AOR and coordinate planning for strategic sealift movement in support of exercises. You will review all OPLANS to ensure mission capability and analyze SDDC and TEA (Transportation Engineering Agency) port capability studies to ensure realistic contingency plans are developed and integrated into wartime planning. You will direct the Transportation Brigade contingency planning and manage and coordinate short and long range planning policies and procedures. You will provide guidance and assistance to subordinates' activities concerning mobilization and contingency operations, as well as being the command's Point of Contact (POC) on contingency issues with HQ SDDC. You will use the transportation aspects of the Global Command and Control System (GCCS) and Joint Operations, Planning and Execution System (JOPES) to direct and integrate products into the Brigade supporting planning efforts.
