About the Position: This position is in the Engineering Division of the New Orleans District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The District provides for navigation, flood and hurricane risk reduction, environmental stewardship, and other water resources needs to benefit the people of southern Louisiana and the nation. Provide technical expertise and oversight for cost, risk, and schedule development processes. Coordinates with other organizational elements of the District in scheduling civil works projects for bid solicitations. Compares Government estimates with contractors' bids and furnishes an analysis, which serves as supporting material for decisions on awarding contracts. Serves as technical advisor on all matters pertaining to cost engineering and specifications. Directs staff that are preparing and/or reviewing cost estimates for planning and budgetary purposes.
