About the Position: Serves as Chief of the Operations and Maintenance Division. Provides direct supervision to a multi-disciplined professional and technical staff; Being responsible for the planning, programming, coordinating, supervising, monitoring and executing of the buildings and grounds and utilities functions for the installation. Directs and supervises a multi-disciplined (civil, mechanical, architectural, sanitary and electrical) team of professional engineers, technicians and inspectors. Manages a combination of the following: Buildings and structures, roads, grounds, and utility systems. Utilizes professional engineering skills and knowledge, familiarity with policies and procedures, and knowledge of the latest technological advances in facilities engineering. Provides the guidance necessary to develop and program projects for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the installation's buildings structures, roads, bridges, railroads, hardstands, airfields, grounds, and utilities systems. Performs engineering inspections and prepares analytical reports on the condition of roofs, roof trusses, exterior painting, roads, bridges, airfields, elevated structures, storage tanks, pressure vessels, and utilities systems. Designs and prepares drawings, specifications and cost estimates for service contracts. Coordinates designs with using agency and DPW elements. Prepares studies and analyses pertaining to operation and maintenance matters and recommends actions and/or solutions. Provides assistance and guidance on especially complex or controversial problems/projects. Supervises, plans, directs and reviews the work of a multi-disciplined staff.
