This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital (Truman VA). The incumbent is assigned to the Behavioral Health (BH) Service Line at Truman VA. Truman VA is a level 1C Medical Center that provides both outpatient medical and mental health services at the main facility and at each of nine Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). Duties may include: Independently develops, implements, and maintains policies, standard operating procedures, and practice guidelines governing the COMPACT Act Program. Serves as the authoritative interpreter of VHA Directives, VACO/OMHSP mandates, and national program guidance as they apply to local implementation. As these directives are often broad or require interpretation, the incumbent applies accurate and independent judgment in translating national guidance into Medical Center policy and procedure. Oversees the use of required COMPACT Act templates and tools within the Federal Electronic Health Record (FEHR) to ensure compliant documentation of COMPACT-related care. Represents the COMPACT Act Program and Suicide Prevention Program to other services, organizations, and agencies within the Medical Center and community. Serves as the facility-level point of accountability in interactions with VISN and Central Office program offices. As suicide prevention is a high-priority, high-profile program at the national level, the incumbent must be skillful in approaching individuals and personnel groups to achieve program objectives, gain compliance with established policies and regulations, and employ skills of collaboration and mission-focused engagement when personnel may be resistant to new or changing requirements. Independently implements and monitors facility compliance with COMPACT Act requirements as mandated by the Office of Suicide Prevention for all VA Medical Centers. Prepares and submits required programmatic reports, statistics, and documentation for facility, VISN, and national use, and for accreditation purposes. Coordinates with Patient Advocate Tracking System - Replacement (PATS-R) COMPACT clinical review teams to ensure accurate case tracking and billing compliance. Coordinates with the local Office of Community Care (OCC) and Office of Integrated Veteran Care (IVC) coordinators to manage community-based COMPACT Act care. Provides care coordination and navigation between varying levels of care, including crisis stabilization, inpatient, residential, outpatient, and community-based settings. Serves as the facility's designated subject matter expert for COMPACT Act education. Independently develops and delivers education and training on the COMPACT Act and COMPACT-related care to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders within the VA Medical Center and in the community.
