Descripción del Puesto
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documents for construction projects.
Develop project budgets and cost plans from concept through project completion.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to support project planning and decision-making.
Prepare material take-offs and estimate labour, equipment, and material costs.
Prepare tender documentation and evaluate contractor and supplier bids.
Assist in contract negotiations and procurement activities.
Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
Monitor contract variations, claims, and change orders.
Monitor project costs and prepare regular cost reports and forecasts.
Evaluate interim payment applications and certify contractor valuations.
Prepare final accounts and reconcile project expenditures.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
Ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
Attend site meetings and conduct site visits to assess project progress.
Review drawings and specifications to identify potential cost implications.
Provide commercial advice and recommendations to project stakeholders.
Maintain accurate project cost records and documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant construction regulations.
Prepare financial and contractual reports for management.
Support dispute resolution and claims management where required.
Requirements:
Minimum of an HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Building Technology, or a related discipline.
Proven years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience with quantity surveying and estimating software such as CostX, WinQS, PlanSwift, Cubit, or similar applications.
Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement processes, contracts, and cost management principles.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong negotiation, communication, and report-writing abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
