Responsibilities:
Carry out lab tests on all chemicals and mud samples when required Carry out a blending activity Handle all QAQC- related tasks, received and dispatched chemicals when needed.
Representing the Company as a chief chemist Support the inventory and operations team when required Conduct physical and chemical analyses of raw materials, in-process products, and finished oilfield chemical products.
Verify that all products conform to approved specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
Prepare and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and laboratory test reports.
Investigate product non-conformities and participate in root cause analysis.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) where necessary.
Laboratory Equipment Management Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, worksheets, registers, and electronic records.
Ensure proper sample identification, traceability, and record retention.
Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS) and technical documentation.
Assist in research and development activities for new drilling fluid and oilfield chemical formulations.
Conduct laboratory risk assessments and participate in safety meetings. Comply with all company HSE policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and client specifications.
Requirements:
Minimum of an HND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven years of experience in a QA/QC laboratory or the chemical industry.
Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and quality control principles.
Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), ISO 9001, ISO 17025, HACCP, or related quality standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory documentation systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
