Positions in this series have responsibility for management, supervision or performance of (1) planning, designing, constructing, and/or maintaining structures and facilities that provide shelter, support transportation systems, and control natural resources; (2) investigating, measuring, surveying and mapping the earth's physical features and phenomena; and (3) research and development activities pertaining to (1) or (2).
