This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
The Pharmacy Supervisor (Inpatient- Clinical and Operations) is a licensed pharmacist with knowledge and proficiency in pharmacy administration and the delivery of evidence-based pharmaceutical care services at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NFSGVHS). Duties includes but are not limited to: Duties: Develops, organizes, coordinates, manages and evaluates single or multiple clinical programs within NFSGVHS. Maintains effective intra- and interdepartmental relations and collaborates with other sections and services to accomplish Pharmacy Service and NFSGVHS missions and goals. Responsible for providing pharmaceutical care as a clinical pharmacist practitioner (CPP). Responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to optimize patient response and resource utilization. Involved in the design, implementation, and monitoring of therapeutic drug plans to achieve definite outcomes through direct interactions with patients and providers in assigned practice areas. Orders, performs, reviews, and analyzes appropriate laboratory tests and other diagnostic studies necessary to monitor and support the patient's drug therapy. Reviews all medication orders for appropriateness, drug selection, dosage, route of administration and the amount, prior to dispensing. Maintains adequate drug stock, inspects drug storage areas, supervises the operation of automated dispensing equipment. Serves as a dedicated member of local, VISN and/or national committees, being a positive representative of the VAMC Pharmacy Service Demonstrates ownership of and possesses expert knowledge in their assigned clinical practice area(s). Provides first level supervision to pharmacists, technicians, trainees, and other staff assigned to clinical pharmacy program areas. Develops performance plans and standards that are realistic, challenging, and relate whenever possible to VHA and Health System goals Supervise, orient, and train employees, residents, and students to ensure both an acceptable quality and quantity of work. Other pharmacist clinical duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Rotating Tours to be further discussed during the interview to include weekends, holidays, evening and nights based on service needs.
