This position is located within the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, White Sands National Park, Interpretation Division, Alamogordo, NM. Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Answering questions on a variety of subjects and providing current and accurate information concerning the park and surrounding areas of interest. Providing excellent customer services to visitors that meets their needs and enhances their visitor experience. Presenting repetitive pre-established talks including introductions to films, map talks, and guided ranger walks. Orienting hikers to conditions, safety, and equipment needs. Performing duties that require application of broad subject-matter knowledge of the park. Guiding large groups (up to 50 people) on longer walks or programs and providing a wide range of services to park visitors. Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct Deposit participation required.
