Promotes the delivery of quality patient care based on current standards in the practice of Ophthalmology. This is a part-time position (0.1FTEE) ophthalmologist practicing primarily oculoplastics and orbital surgery. The practice is made up of the Long Island Veteran population at the Northport VAMC, and the incumbent will be training ophthalmology residents both in clinic and in the OR. At least 1 year of an oculoplastics fellowship is required, with supporting documentation.

Participates in Surgical Services/Ophthalmology staff meetings and Medical Center Committees as appointed or required by the Chief of Surgical Services, Chief of Ophthalmology, Associate Chief of Ophthalmology, or any other member of the organizational hierarchy. Facilitates quality patient care and effective operations of the Ophthalmology Section. Maintains ongoing communication and problem solving with other services as well as with the Surgical Service sections. Performs any other administrative duties as required or delegated by the Chief or Associate Chief of Ophthalmology. Participates in conducting, designing, and coordinating orientation and teaching activities. Maintains professional competence through participation in continuing education. Attends/completes all mandatory hospital training. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm
