This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
VA Careers - Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist: https://youtube.com/embed/I-4ku5UMvWM Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties: -Works with management in a harmonious manner, supporting operations with a Team mentality that show cohesive team engagement and working towards positive goals. -Reviews all diagnostic Ct studies for accuracy, completeness and technical quality. -Coordinates the flow of patients through the CT department by efficient assignment of work and maximum utilization of staff and CT equipment. Expedites the examinations of acutely ill patients by communicating and working with CT staff, nursing and radiologists. Works with other services (OR, ER, ICU's) to meet the CT imaging needs of other services. -Performs CT procedures when staffing levels require the incumbent to do so, to ensure that patient care is continued without delay or interruption. -Oversees image transmission and acquisition process to ensure that all CT images are transmitted into PAC's system. Participates in process improvement activities, monitoring, reporting and planning. -Practices hospital safety, infection control, universal precaution and oversees Ct safety in accordance with regulations and departmental guidelines. -Assesses and reviews requisitions with clerical staff and technologists, interacts with requesting healthcare providers and radiologists regarding requests when necessary. -Directly supervises CT radiologic technologists within the CT section. -Oversees and coordinates student educational experience within the CT department as directed. ? Assists in initiating and implementing changes in methods of delivering patient care in CT. -Implements departmental and medical center policy and procedures. -Effectively communicates verbally and through example and attitude, the goals and mission of the service to employees under his/her supervision. -Ensures division activities are carried out to meet the goals of the department in a timely manner. -Coordinates the integration of the CT department with other aspects of overall patient care. -Provides input about the evaluation of employees working in CT i.e. competency reviews, performance appraisals. -Advises employees within the CT department of performance requirements. Notifies Chief Technologist if employees have inadequate performance or conduct. -Resolves conflicts within his/her jurisdiction as appropriate; refers problems to the Chief Technologist only when necessary. -Helps coordinate vacation and leave requests while maintaining adequate staffing levels -Notifies Chief Technologist of overtime requirements. -Coordinates shift coverage to ensure all tours are covered with adequate staffing. This may require cover some call and overtime shifts. -The incumbent is responsible for the quality assurance of the image (positioning/label/technique/network information) prior to transmission to the PAC's (picture archiving) network. The incumbent assists CT Technologists in use of Telepacs system.
