About the Position: You will serve as the technical lead for the Army Facilities Components System (AFCS) program. AFCS is a DoD joint program that provides readily accessible, current, standardized, adaptable and scalable base camp component and facility designs. Responsible for complex and innovative engineering/ architectural design, analysis, and/ or cost engineering efforts on projects for civil and military projects, work for others, and HTRW projects. Define site specific problems and identify necessary technical testing and analyses; cost or price estimating; and cost/ price/ schedule risk analyses. Perform work relating to difficult or critical designs and problems and often leads the efforts of a team carrying out broad, innovative project assignments. Prepare designs, analyses, layouts, computations, cost estimates, design drawings, quantity calculations and reviews same. Perform field reconnaissance and site investigation in connection with significant and/or controversial project development to determine the accuracy of field surveys.
