This is an interdisciplinary position, which means that the duties and responsibilities of the position relate to both the Civil Engineer (Highway) (0810) and Land Surveyor (1373) fields. Because of the interdisciplinary nature of this position, a person with the education and experience in either the 0810 or the 1373 field may be considered equally well qualified to do the work. You will also: Plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise the survey, mapping, right-of-way, and utility coordination activities for the Division. Estimate and manage the technical scope, schedule, and budget for project activities. Lead the refinement of standard operating procedures and quality control measures. The ideal candidate for this position is a senior career land surveyor or civil engineer with extensive experience supervising land surveyors and survey technicians performing field surveys, researching property boundaries, preparing right-of-way documents, and conducting utility coordination for transportation improvement projects.
