This vacancy is for a GS-0801-12, General Engineer - GS-0801-12 located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SILC-ESD FACILITIES MANAGEMENT BRANCH in NORFOLK, Virginia.
You will serve as a General Engineer - GS-0801-12 and be responsible for serving as a project manager/general engineer withing multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering team. Projects include new construction of CG facilities, repair, maintenance, modifications or renovations to existing facilities. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Evaluating life cycle maintenance requirements, managing equipment selection, and overseeing decommissioning for new and existing shore assets to produce accurate System for Award Management (SAM) records. Coordinating engineering design phases and environmental compliance parameters. Developing standardized Statements of Work (SOW), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE), and Performance Work Statements (PWS). Managing and evaluating contractor services and deliverables applied to equipment servicing to ensure strict adherence to performance metrics. Developing a turnkey asset-turnover strategy, including the drafting of Engineering Orders (EOs) and unit Engineering Property Orders (EPOs).
