You will operate a central computerized phone system console (e.g., multi-line 911 systems, Reverse 911 system, other equivalent communication device) to interpret and relay emergency information. You will use a multi-phone line communication system to transmit and receive routine and emergency calls. You will use an automated system (e.g., Computer Aided Dispatch [CAD]) to input emergency and non-emergency response data for archive and immediate reference. You will prioritize incoming calls or reports of an emergency to verify emergency resources are dispatched by severity of situation and manpower availability. You will instruct callers on what to do and what not to do before responding units arrive.
