This position is located in the Rural Development (RD) Ohio State Office.. The Deputy State Director participates fully with the State Director in furthering the mission of USDA (RD). Provides leadership and guidance to senior staff in administering, monitoring and evaluating various programs to assure compliance with Rural Development program policies and the public assistance applicable to the overall State program. THIS VACANCY IS OPEN TO CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF USDA, RURAL DEVELOPMENT ONLY.
Assist and support the State Director's agenda and the formulation and implementation of the total Rural Development program within the State
Develop training plans and/or on-the-job training for subordinate supervisors and employees and identify developmental needs.
Manage all Program Directors and administrative personnel
Directs everyday administrative needs and organizational requirements.
Approve leave for subordinate supervisors and employees.
Ensure stable, seamless, and consistent state-level operational coverage through peak workloads and traditional holiday vacation time.
