Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Operations Support, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, located in Washington, DC. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above. As Chief of Staff in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, you will play a key role in supporting and coordinating the management and implementation of medical policy, administration, and operational issues for CBP. This position ensures the effective delivery of medical support and guidance to leadership, directly contributing to CBP's mission to safeguard America's homeland and enforce U.S. laws while promoting national security and public health. This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10). While serving as a Chief of Staff, your duties may include: Providing expert advice and counsel to the CMO and CBP leadership regarding CBP medical support administrative operations. Directing, coordinating, molding, and representing the Chief Medical Officer's (CMO's) programs and initiatives. Evaluating and reviewing administrative policy and strategy directives related to CBP's medical programs. Evaluating and reviewing staff actions to ensure integration and compliance with administrative requirements. Presenting proposals and recommendations for effective management of policy and operational support for the medical programs.
