OMS — Oracle Merchant Services

Independent Contractor (1099) | Remote | Nationwide

About the Opportunity

OMS is expanding its relationships with credit unions throughout the United States and is seeking experienced credit union industry professionals and financial-services consultants to serve as independent Business Development Consultants.

This opportunity is designed for professionals who have substantial knowledge of the credit union industry and established professional relationships with credit union executives, business banking leaders, operations leaders, or other individuals involved in evaluating financial-services vendors.

The Consultant will help OMS identify appropriate credit union opportunities, develop professional relationships, facilitate introductions, participate in initial business-development discussions, and help OMS understand the credit union's needs and vendor environment.

This is an independent contractor position intended for experienced industry professionals who can work independently and develop opportunities through their existing professional network.

About OMS

OMS — Oracle Merchant Services — provides merchant services and payment solutions to businesses and financial institutions.

OMS works with organizations seeking payment-processing solutions and opportunities to provide additional value to their business customers and members.

The Business Development Consultant will represent OMS professionally when developing business relationships and will work with OMS personnel as opportunities progress.

Responsibilities

The Business Development Consultant will:

  • Identify credit unions that may have an appropriate business need for OMS services.
  • Research and qualify potential credit union opportunities.
  • Identify appropriate executives and decision makers.
  • Use established professional relationships to initiate business conversations.
  • Facilitate qualified introductions between OMS and credit union representatives.
  • Participate in introductory discussions when appropriate.
  • Help identify the credit union's business objectives and vendor requirements.
  • Provide relevant industry insight based on professional experience.
  • Maintain professional communication with credit union contacts.
  • Coordinate qualified opportunities with OMS management and business-development personnel.
  • Assist with relationship development as opportunities progress.
  • Maintain an organized record of business-development activity and opportunities.
  • Identify additional qualified opportunities through professional networking and industry relationships.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable professional, contractual, regulatory, and conflict-of-interest requirements.

The Consultant is not responsible for underwriting, merchant account processing, technical implementation, or operational support. OMS will provide the appropriate resources for those functions.

  • Credit union association professionals
  • CUSO professionals
  • Financial-services technology consultants
  • Payment or merchant-services professionals
  • Other professionals with substantial credit union industry experience

Prior experience making vendor introductions or helping financial institutions evaluate products and services is highly desirable.

Professional Network

Established relationships are an important qualification for this position.

Strong candidates may have professional relationships with individuals such as:

  • Chief Lending Officers
  • Operations executives
  • Digital banking executives
  • Payments or merchant-services executives
  • Vendor-management personnel
  • Strategic partnership leaders
  • Other individuals involved in financial-services vendor evaluation

The strongest candidates will understand how credit unions evaluate new products, services, and vendor relationships.

Business Development Expectations

The initial objective is to develop at least one qualified credit union business-development opportunity per month.

A qualified opportunity is one in which:

  • The credit union is a reasonable potential fit for OMS.
  • An appropriate decision maker or influencer has been identified.
  • The Consultant has a legitimate professional relationship or credible industry connection.
  • An introduction or business-development conversation has been initiated.
  • The credit union has expressed willingness to learn more about OMS.

The objective is quality rather than a high volume of unqualified contacts.

Consultants who develop additional qualified opportunities are encouraged to do so.

Compensation

Compensation Type: Commission Only

Employment Classification: Independent Contractor (1099)

Compensation is based on qualifying business generated through the Consultant's business-development activities and the applicable OMS independent-contractor compensation agreement.

The specific commission schedule, qualifying conditions, payment timing, and applicable residual compensation provisions will be provided to qualified candidates before entering into an independent-contractor agreement.

There is no hourly wage or guaranteed salary for this position. Actual compensation depends on business generated, qualifying accounts, processing activity, and the applicable compensation agreement.

Applicants should review the compensation structure carefully and should apply only if they are comfortable with an independent, performance-based compensation model.

Work Arrangement

This is a remote, nationwide independent-contractor position.

The Consultant manages their own schedule and business-development activities.

Build a New Recurring Revenue Stream From the Business Relationships You Already Have

Are you already trusted by business owners?

If you have an established book of business, a strong network of business owners, or years of experience selling B2B products and services, OMS gives you an opportunity to add another revenue-producing solution to the relationships you've already built.

We are expanding our independent sales organization and are looking for experienced B2B sales professionals—not entry-level salespeople—to become Independent Strategic Sales Partners with OMS.

You bring the relationships.

OMS provides the merchant-services platform, technology, underwriting, onboarding, implementation and ongoing merchant support.

Your job isn't to become a payment-processing expert overnight. Your job is to identify businesses that could benefit from better payment solutions, introduce OMS, and develop the relationship.

WHY EXPERIENCED SALES PROFESSIONALS ARE LOOKING AT OMS

Every business accepts payments.

That means merchant services can complement a wide variety of B2B sales relationships.

If you already sell:

  • Business or commercial insurance
  • Payroll or HR services
  • Employee benefits
  • Accounting or tax services
  • Bookkeeping services
  • Business banking or commercial lending
  • POS or restaurant technology
  • SaaS or business technology
  • Telecommunications
  • Equipment financing
  • Office technology
  • Business consulting
  • Professional services
  • Other B2B products or recurring-revenue solutions

you may already have the exact relationships OMS is looking for.

Instead of asking you to abandon your current business, OMS gives you another solution you can introduce to qualified business clients.

The concept is simple:

You bring the relationships.

OMS provides the infrastructure.

The merchant relationship can create recurring residual revenue.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an independent contractor opportunity designed for established producers who want to build another recurring revenue stream.

You will have the flexibility to:

  • Work remotely from home
  • Manage your own schedule
  • Develop your own pipeline
  • Leverage your existing relationships
  • Generate referrals from your professional network
  • Introduce OMS to existing business clients
  • Develop new business relationships
  • Build a growing portfolio of merchant accounts
  • Earn ongoing residual commissions from qualifying accounts
  • Participate in performance and production-based incentives

There is no traditional salary ceiling because this is a production-based independent business opportunity.

Your earning potential grows with your production and the quality and longevity of the portfolio you build.

PRODUCTION EXPECTATION

This opportunity is designed for experienced sales professionals who can build toward approximately:

$1 MILLION+ IN NEW MONTHLY PROCESSING VOLUME

This is an experienced-producer target, not an entry-level quota.

We are looking for candidates who already understand how to:

  • Prospect into businesses
  • Develop decision-maker relationships
  • Generate referrals
  • Conduct consultative sales conversations
  • Manage a sales pipeline
  • Close B2B opportunities
  • Build recurring revenue
  • Maintain long-term client relationships

Candidates with an established book of business or substantial business-owner network are strongly preferred.

Candidates without a formal book may still be considered if they can demonstrate a strong B2B sales history, meaningful business relationships, consistent production and the ability to generate qualified opportunities.

COMPENSATION

Residual Commission + Performance Bonuses + Production Incentives

OMS provides a compensation structure designed around the long-term value of the merchant portfolio you build.

Depending on production and account performance, opportunities may include:

  • Ongoing residual commissions
  • Performance bonuses
  • Production incentives
  • Account-acquisition incentives
  • Volume-based earning opportunities
  • Portfolio growth opportunities

Your book can become an ongoing revenue-producing asset.

Detailed commission schedules, qualifying requirements and applicable incentive programs will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.

This is an independent contractor position. It is not a guaranteed-salary or hourly position. Actual earnings vary based on individual production, approved merchant accounts, processing volume, account mix and portfolio performance.

WHY OMS?

Merchant services is one of the few B2B solutions that can fit naturally into an enormous range of business relationships.

A business may already have:

  • An insurance broker
  • A payroll provider
  • An accountant
  • A banker
  • A technology consultant
  • A benefits advisor
  • A business consultant

But virtually every business also needs to accept payments.

That creates an opportunity for an experienced relationship-driven salesperson to introduce a complementary solution without replacing the products they already sell.

OMS handles much of the infrastructure behind the relationship, including:

  • Merchant-services technology
  • Payment-processing solutions
  • Underwriting
  • Account onboarding
  • Implementation
  • Equipment and technology solutions
  • Merchant support
  • Ongoing account servicing

This allows the Strategic Sales Partner to focus on what they do best:

Building relationships and generating business.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our strongest candidates are established B2B sales professionals who have spent years building trust with business owners and decision-makers.

You may be a particularly strong fit if you have:

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience
  • An established book of business or substantial professional network
  • Existing relationships with business owners or executives
  • A demonstrated history of sales production
  • Experience generating referrals
  • Consultative selling experience
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills
  • Experience selling recurring-revenue products or services
  • The ability to independently manage a pipeline
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
  • The discipline to work independently without daily supervision

We are especially interested in professionals who have developed relationships that extend beyond a single transaction.

IDEAL PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUNDS

We welcome experienced producers from a variety of industries, including:

Insurance

Commercial insurance agents, producers, brokers and business insurance specialists.

Payroll & HR

Payroll consultants, HR consultants, PEO representatives and workforce-service professionals.

Accounting & Finance

CPAs, accountants, tax professionals, bookkeepers and financial-service professionals with business relationships.

Banking & Lending

Business bankers, commercial lenders, relationship managers and other professionals with established business-client relationships.

Technology & SaaS

SaaS account executives, technology consultants, POS professionals, telecom representatives and business-technology sales professionals.

Business Services

Equipment-finance professionals, office-technology representatives, consultants and other B2B relationship-based sales professionals.

Merchant Services

Experienced payment-processing professionals are welcome, but prior merchant-services experience is not required.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As an Independent Strategic Sales Partner, you will:

  • Identify businesses within your network and territory
  • Introduce OMS merchant-services solutions
  • Identify opportunities to improve a merchant's current payment environment
  • Conduct initial discovery with business owners and decision-makers
  • Develop qualified merchant opportunities
  • Present OMS solutions
  • Generate referrals from existing relationships
  • Manage your independent sales pipeline
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with merchants
  • Coordinate with OMS underwriting and onboarding teams
  • Work with OMS implementation and support resources
  • Develop your geographic market and referral network
  • Build a long-term residual portfolio

You are not expected to personally handle every operational component of merchant onboarding.

OMS provides the infrastructure and support.

THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL SALES JOB

This opportunity may not be right for someone who:

  • Is looking for a guaranteed salary
  • Wants an hourly position
  • Is new to B2B sales
  • Has no business-owner network
  • Prefers retail or transactional sales
  • Requires daily management and supervision
  • Is uncomfortable generating referrals
  • Is looking for a short-term commission opportunity
  • Does not want to develop long-term client relationships

We are looking for producers.

People who already know how to build relationships, open doors and close business.

THE OMS SALES-PARTNER MODEL

Think of OMS as an additional product in your professional portfolio.

You don't necessarily need to replace what you currently sell.

You can potentially add merchant services to conversations you're already having with business owners.

For example:

Insurance Producer

"While we're reviewing your business expenses, let's also look at what you're paying for payment processing."

Payroll Consultant

"Since we're already helping with payroll, let's see whether we can also identify opportunities to improve your payment-processing costs."

CPA / Accountant

"Let's review another major operating expense—your merchant processing."

Business Banker

"We can introduce your business clients to a merchant-services solution through OMS."

The relationship already exists.

OMS gives you another reason to have a conversation.

REMOTE & INDEPENDENT

This is a 100% remote independent contractor opportunity.

You control:

  • Your schedule
  • Your daily activity
  • Your prospecting strategy
  • Your relationship development
  • Your geographic focus
  • Your pipeline
  • Your business-development approach

Successful Strategic Sales Partners operate with the independence and professionalism expected of experienced B2B producers.

WHAT MAKES A STRONG OMS PARTNER?

The strongest candidate isn't necessarily the person with the most impressive résumé.

It's the person who can say:

"I already know hundreds of business owners."

"I already have relationships with decision-makers."

"I already sell a product businesses need."

"I know how to ask for introductions."

"I know how to close B2B business."

If that sounds like you, OMS may be a strong fit.
