About the Position: This position serves as an Ammunition Surveillance Inspector conducting functions and duties in support and accomplishment of the Quality Assurance, Ammunition Surveillance Program for the safety, logistics, serviceability and reliability of ammunition/explosives and associated operations. Conduct physical inspections of inbound and outbound empty and loaded transportation assets and conveyances (trucks and vehicles) provided for shipment for compliance prior to loading. Inspect, monitor and evaluate loading process, and conduct inspection of loaded containers/pallets for compliance with specific item technical loading drawing requirements. Inspect small arms ammunition to ensure segregation of ball and blank ammunition. Conduct technical inspections, operations and activities in the receipt, shipment, handling, inspection, storage, safety, and logistics functions involving conventional ammunition items, large/small rockets and guided missiles used and stored. Enforce safety regulations to operating personnel to assure safe storage, compatibility, explosive limits. Conduct visual, mechanical, functional, static or dimensional tests in workshop, at storage location, or on a firing range.
