Job Description
This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Technical Support and Emergency Management (DTSEM) in the Office of Statistical Analysis, located in Washington, DC. This position is at the full performance level. This position is INSIDE the bargaining unit. This position is not remote. Selectee will be expected to report to the office above. Duties for the Statistician position include, but are not limited to, the following: Conducting special studies to develop and evaluate quantitative measures of occupational or industrial hazardousness and agency performance. Providing support to users of occupational injury, illness, and fatality data to help them understand the data and its limitations. Applying statistical methodologies to conduct data analyses and to evaluate programs. Assessing the ability of existing data systems to meet OSHA's needs and make recommendations as needed. Participating in the development and maintenance of OSHA-wide performance measurement systems that evaluate OSHA's effectiveness in achieving its mission.
