Bourke Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (BACHS) is seeking an experienced and passionate Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Manager to provide leadership, direction and operational oversight across our SEWB services and programs in Bourke, NSW.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced health, mental health or social services leader to shape culturally safe, community-focused services and lead a multidisciplinary team committed to improving social and emotional wellbeing outcomes for the Bourke community.

About the Role

Reporting to the DCEO, the SEWB Manager will lead the day-to-day operations and future development of BACHS' Social and Emotional Wellbeing services and programs.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership, support and mentor staff, oversee program performance and funding requirements, and develop strong partnerships with community organisations, government agencies and other service providers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the SEWB team and day-to-day program operations.
• Developing and implementing the SEWB strategy and operational plan in alignment with BACHS' strategic objectives.
• Providing leadership, mentoring, education and support to SEWB staff.
• Managing program budgets, funding agreements, grants, KPIs and reporting requirements.
• Monitoring service performance and implementing improvements where required.
• Leading recruitment, induction, performance management and workforce development across the SEWB team.
• Developing culturally appropriate community engagement initiatives, events and partnerships.
• Building strong relationships with community organisations, government agencies, contractors and service providers.
• Working collaboratively with BACHS clinical staff, psychologists, counsellors and other health professionals.
• Ensuring services meet relevant legislative, regulatory, funding, accreditation and BACHS policy requirements.

About You

You will be an experienced and collaborative leader who understands the importance of culturally safe, community-led healthcare. You will bring strong people leadership, relationship-building and operational management skills, along with the ability to work effectively with staff, community members and external stakeholders.

You will ideally have:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in psychology, social services, health, wellbeing or a business-related discipline.
• Relevant registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, where applicable.
• Senior leadership experience within health, allied health or social services, preferably within an Aboriginal organisation or community-controlled setting.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships across all levels of the community.
• Experience managing budgets, funding agreements and reporting within a not-for-profit environment.
• An understanding of Medicare funding and its application within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and reporting skills.
• A current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one.
• National Police Clearance.
• Current driver's licence.
