You have choices — here's what Sláinte Care offers: You decide which shifts to accept. We'll share the available information, including the nursing home, location, shift times and relevant arrival instructions. You can accept or decline each offer based on whether it suits you. Your core setup is covered. We arrange and pay for Garda Vetting and provide your uniform and ID badge. We help you get started properly. You'll receive personal assistance setting up the shift and clock-in apps, followed by a friendly in-person introduction. We understand nursing-home environments. Our founders spent over a decade working as chefs and catering staff in Irish nursing homes. That experience shaped our focus on preparation, communication and respect for every role. What the work looks like You'll join the nursing home's existing care team and work under the direction of the nurse or person in charge — supporting residents with personal care, meals, hydration, mobility and transfers, following individual care plans and safeguarding procedures, and protecting residents' privacy, dignity and independence throughout. Procedures vary between homes, so you'll complete any required local induction and ask for guidance whenever you're unsure. What you'll need Completed QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support, including Care Skills and Care of the Older Person, or a recognised equivalent. At least six months' experience as a Healthcare Assistant, ideally in a nursing home or residential care setting. Valid Manual Handling and Patient Handling certification. The legal right to work in Ireland. The ability to travel reliably to nursing homes across Dublin. Clear communication and a calm, respectful approach to care.
