About the Position: This position is located at the Air Force Academy in Fort Carson, Colorado. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation -A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. -Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. -Student Loan repayment may be authorized. -Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. Perform examination, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures. Utilize specific examinations and instruments to determine an individual's functional vision and specific visual abilities. Provide evaluation and treatment of duty-related eye injuries and illnesses. Ensure personnel requiring prescriptive eyewear receive appropriate protective equipment to include ordering appropriate eyewear and adjusting to optimize protection. Perform a primary role in the visual readiness and optimization of active-duty personnel for both war and peace mission accomplishment.
