Good Things Australia is seeking to appoint a number of dynamic and values-led Non-Executive Directors to strengthen the Board's collective skills, experience and diversity, as we continue to grow our impact.
About us
Good Things Australia is a national leader in digital inclusion, working to ensure that all Australians, particularly those experiencing disadvantage, can confidently and safely participate in the digital world. Having recently transitioned to full independence from its UK parent entity, the organisation is entering a new chapter of strategic autonomy and governance maturity. With a clear mission focused on digital inclusion, AI literacy, online safety and community empowerment, Good Things operates at the intersection of technology, social impact and public policy.
About the role
We are seeking hands-on Directors who will actively drive the growth of our impact, sustainability, influence, and reach. Ideal candidates bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Strategic business development and commercial leadership — a proven track record of working with executive teams to drive growth, diversify revenue, and build high-value partnerships, with social impact at the core of decision-making.
- Existing strong networks and partnerships across philanthropy, government, corporate or community sectors.
- Technology policy, digital transformation or emerging technology governance - including experience shaping policy, regulation or organisational strategy in response to technological change. With a strong understanding of the ethics, opportunities, risks and social implications of emerging technology including AI.
Applicants should also ideally have:
- Board or senior executive leadership — experience providing strategic oversight, governance and stewardship in complex organisations or sectors
- Strong financial and risk management capability - with experience in enterprise risk oversight highly valued.
We value diversity and encourage applicants from varied backgrounds and experiences to apply.
The Board
The Board currently comprises six Directors, including the Chair, who bring diverse backgrounds, skills and experience. Directors serve voluntarily, with reasonable expenses covered. The role involves a commitment of around six hours per month, including participation in Board meetings and strategic activities. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of digital inclusion in Australia.
