Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre is seeking an experienced and community-focused leader to become our next Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and values-driven professional to lead a respected community organisation that has been creating opportunities for people to connect, participate and learn for many years.

Working closely with the Committee of Management, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the Centre continues to deliver high-quality community programs, lifelong learning opportunities and partnerships that strengthen our local community.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Committee of Management, the Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the Centre.

This is a varied and rewarding position requiring someone who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with operational delivery.

The successful applicant will:

Lead and inspire staff, volunteers and community members
Develop innovative community programs that respond to local needs
Build strong partnerships with government, community organisations and local stakeholders
Support good governance through high-quality reporting and advice to the Committee
Manage budgets, grants and organisational resources
Identify new funding opportunities to ensure long-term sustainability
Maintain compliance with legislative, funding and Child Safe requirements
Foster a welcoming, inclusive and safe organisational culture

About You

We are looking for an authentic leader who is passionate about community development and has the ability to build strong relationships across the community.

You will bring:

Demonstrated leadership experience within a community, education or not-for-profit organisation
Experience managing staff, volunteers and organisational operations
Strong financial management, budgeting and grant administration skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working effectively with a Committee of Management or Board
Well-developed organisational, planning and problem-solving abilities
A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement
A genuine passion for community development and social inclusion

Knowledge of the Neighbourhood House sector will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must hold (or be willing to obtain):

Current Driver Licence
Employee Working with Children Check
National Police Check
Right to work in Australia

Employment Details

Position: Permanent Part-Time
Classification: NHACE Collective Agreement 2024 – Schedule 3B Level 7 (or as determined)
