Light Vehicle Mechanic

REPORTING LINE

Workshop Manager

TERMS OF CONTRACT

Fixed Term Contract


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ü Diagnose and troubleshoot the Light Vehicle

ü Carry out repairs and maintenance of vehicles as per the company standards.

ü Keep all relevant tools and equipment in good order available at all times to perform the task.

ü Prepare materials/parts requisition slip and work done report.

ü Report to plant foreman when any abnormalities are noticed on the equipment.

ü Adhere to all QSHE policies, procedures and instructions.

ü Record work performed and report progress to site agent

ü Any other work-related duty assigned from time to time.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Timely & accurate repairs on machinery malfunctions, observance of safe rules of machinery, observance of company policies and procedures, professional, friendly and neat appearance.

KEY KNOWELEDGE AND COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

ü The candidate must have a Full Technician Certificate or Diploma in Automobile / Mechanical engineering (E), has passed Occupational Trade Test I (E),

ü Must be above 25 years of age (E), minimum experience of hands on 5 years working with similar machinery and vehicles (E),

ü Must have a valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for classes B, C, E, D, (E)

ü Defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution (D)

ü Attended a First-Aid certificate course from a recognized institution (D)

ü Must have computer skills (D)

ü Knowledge of safety procedures and construction regulations

ü Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and supervisor.

ü Able to supervise, diagnostic skills, able to read and understand workshop manual and parts catalogue

Takes initiative, works with collegiality, is resourceful, professional, have a strong sense of work ethics, honest and loyal, able to multitask, has a willing attitude to learn, can work flexibly including travelling out of station frequently
